The Prime Minister of Georgia responds to the presence of foreign politicians at a rally in front of the Parliament. Speaking at today’s briefing, he said that “it is unacceptable for foreigners to interfere in Georgia’s internal politics.

“As for what happens on the stage. When the MPs of specific countries appear at the rally, in principle, this is the transparency of foreign influence. Today, on the stage in front of the Parliament building, we see the transparency of foreign influence, with foreign politicians appearing directly on the political scene, illustrating the scale of lustration.

Naturally, it is absolutely unacceptable when foreigners try to interfere in Georgia’s internal politics for the benefit of the collective [United] National Movement. This is the lustration of everything. The society will make its own conclusions about the rest”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

His comments came in response to the participation of chairpersons of the foreign affairs committees from five EU member states at the rally on Rustaveli Avenue, where they addressed the participants.
