The Prosecutorial Council, in accordance with Article 4 of the “Rules for the Selection of Candidates for the Position of the Prosecutor General of Georgia”, held a vote for the selection of candidates.

In particular, 3 candidates - Viktor Akhalbedashvili, Darejan Butskhrikidze and Giorgi Gabitashvili – have been selected.

The results of the voting for the candidates for the Prosecutor General of Georgia are as follows:

Viktor Akhalbedashvili - 9 votes
David Barbakadze - 1 vote
Lali Bunturi - 0 votes
Darejan Butskhrikidze - 10 votes
Giorgi Gabitashvili - 11 votes
Aleksandre Kobaidze - 0 votes
Andronik Saribekov - 1 vote

Tomorrow, July 11, at 11:00, candidates will be voted for separately at the session of the Prosecutorial Council. Voting will be secret. The candidate who receives more votes, but not less than two-thirds of the full composition of the Council, shall be considered elected.

The voting process will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Prosecutorial Council.
