High economic growth witnessed in the 1st two quarters of the year, we can increase 2024 budget by GEL 519 million. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“Overall, we can augment the State Budget for the current year with 519 MLN GEL.

We already had a discussion on the potential earmarking of these funds and we believe that the following distribution will be appropriate: 115 MLN GEL will be channeled to increase the funding of the Ministry of Health, 100 MLN GEL will be added to the Ministry of Defense, 80 MLN GEL - for the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, 33 MLN GEL for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 10 MLN GEL for the regional development and infrastructure, 6 MLN GEL for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while 3 MLN GEL will go to the Central Election Commission, 60 MLN GEL to the emergency rescue budget for natural disasters and 102 MLN GEL will be added to municipalities.

This is a proposed distribution, according to which we will act in the upcoming future”, - said Irakli Kobakhize.
