Georgian Olympic Champions return from Paris

Georgian Olympic Champions Lasha Talakhadze and Geno Petriashvili and also silver medalist Givi Macharashvili returned to Georgia after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Family members and friends greeted Georgian athletes at the Tbilisi International Airport and congratulated them on their success.

Georgia won 7 medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics: 3 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.

Georgian weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze [+102 kg] became a 3-time Olympic Champion at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He earned gold by lifting 210 and 215 kg in snatch and 247 and 255 kg in clean and jerk, in total 470 kg.

Geno Petriashvili, 30, heavyweight freestyle wrestler [125 kg] also won the title of Olympic Champion at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He defeated Amir Hossein Zare [Iran] with a score of 10:9 and secured the fifth medal for Georgia.

Georgian freestyle wrestler Givi Macharashvili [97 kg] secured a silver medal at the Olympics in Paris after losing in the final to Akhmed Tazhudinov [Bahrain].

As it known, Los Angeles will host the next Olympics in 2028.
