We saw how happy the country was with our success, we want to do it again, now the League of Nations awaits us, said today the head coach of the Georgian national football team.

In his remarks ahead of the upcoming League of Nations matches against Czechia and Albania, Willy Sagnol noted that a new project was starting with the upcoming matches and players needed to concentrate properly.

“The national football team players had proved they can balance emotions and discipline well.

I know that the [Georgian] fans are already demanding to qualify for the [FIFA] World Cup, but it’s too early to talk about it, because the qualifying stage of the [FIFA] World Cup will start next year.

I will tell the players that a new project is starting and they need to concentrate properly. The players of the Georgian national team proved that they can balance emotions and discipline well”, - said Willy Sagnol.

The Georgia team will face Czechia at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi on September 7 and Albania in an away match scheduled for September 10. The head coach called up 23 players for these matches.

The Georgian team will begin their preparation in Tbilisi on Monday, September 2. It includes the following players:
