Deadline for electoral subjects to register for Sakrebulo by-elections expires today - CEC

A political party interested in participating in the by-elections must apply to the Central Election Commission [CEC] today, by the end of the day.

The CEC has scheduled the municipal assembly (Sakrebulo) by-elections for October 3. The elections will be held in the municipalities of Vani, Tsalka, Dmanisi, and Akhmeta. The by-elections were triggered by the early termination of the mandate of the majoritarian deputies of the municipal assemblies.

“On October 3 of this year, municipal assembly by-elections will be held in 4 municipalities: Akhmeta, Vani, Dmanisi, and Tsalka. In total, 7 polling stations will be set up, 4 of which will be fully electronic. We will use vote counting and voter verification machines. Currently, there is a total of 2,201 voters.Today marks the deadline for electoral subjects to apply to the Central Election Commission to participate in these elections”, - said Natia Ioseliani, spokesperson for the Central Election Commission of Georgia.
