Prosecutorial Council is to elect eight members today

Prosecutorial Council is to elect 8 members out of 15-member-composition of the Council. A secret ballot is starting today.

The process should take place at Prosecutors` conference, where the delegates are already gathering. The other members will be selected from the civil sector, the Parliament and the Council of Justice.

Under the new law, the board of trustees will have to approve the prosecution"s chief prosecutor - the candidates will be presented to the Council by Thea Tsulukiani.
