Nika Gvaramia, a Director General of Rustavi2 made a special announcement a few minutes ago. He spoke about threats against him.

" When I came to Rustavi2 there were  a lot of questions about me. I tried to answer all of them . The main question was  what I would do if the government would put pressure on the staff, I promised then  that I would defend the team  in any case . Rustavi2 is the only guarantor of democracy in the country. Unfortunately it seems that there is no longer place in the country for free media.

Today I had conversation with a person, who usually delivers the governmental messages to me. I would like to inform you on the content of this conversation.

I was informed that tomorrow the court will decide that Rustavi2 belongs to Kibar Khalvashi. Tomorrow or day after tomorrow will be released an order on immediate execution of the court"s decision. They demanded from me to move away. I told them that I will never do it.

I was told that I should not forget, that my family lives here and I was not able to sent them to the US, that they have  particular videos, which will be published, they have phone conversations, with Mikheil Saakashvili and others which will be published and I will be destroyed ,"- said Nika Gvaramia.
