We appeal to the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia to initiate and conduct an investigation into the abovementioned claims - CEC

Following the announcement of the 2024 Parliamentary Election results, the Central Election Commission faced significant attack and baseless criticism.

“Despite the fact, that the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission positively assessed the elections and praised the CEC"s performance, and an audit conducted by an American company found no flaws, President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili and representatives of certain political parties have launched unfounded attacks on the CEC, aiming to damage its reputation with baseless accusations. As it known for the public, Election Administration is currently reviewing existing complaints, however, the claims of “alleged election fraud” by the abovementioned politicians have gained widespread campaign.

Determining the truth of statements regarding election fraud made by the President of Georgia, politicians, or any interested stakeholders requires a thorough and objective investigation, which is beyond the election administration"s mandate. Therefore, we appeal to the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia to initiate and conduct an investigation into the abovementioned claims. We express our readiness to cooperate with the investigation and provide Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia with any relevant information needed”.
