The evaluation made by the OSCE/ODIHR is welcome. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.
As Kakha Kaladze told journalists in response to a relevant question, the fact that the mentioned organization did not use the terms “free and fair” in relation to the presidential elections of Moldova is explained by the fact that the OSCE/ODIHR does not use such terms anymore.
“This terminology has not been used by the OSCE/ODIHR for several decades. This is reality, this is a fact. They presented a very good conclusion on our elections. To be honest, we have been in elections since 2012 and there has never been such a peaceful election environment where all political parties had the opportunity to conduct their election campaigns.
The OSCE/ODIHR report also made direct assessments of how the elections were conducted, and this, of course, is welcome. The elections were multi-party, people had the opportunity to come and express their opinion in a peaceful environment.
Perhaps there were isolated cases of confrontation, unfortunately, such facts happen all over the world, although these were isolated cases. Overall, the assessment made by the OSCE/ODIHR is welcome”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
