During Prime Minister’s visit to Abu Dhabi, we discussed strengthening trade and economic relations, tourism, aviation sectors between the countries - Kvrivishvili

The Deputy Economy Minister of Georgia underlined “productive meetings” held with ministers from the United Arab Emirates during Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to Abu Dhabi, where both parties exchanged insights on enhancing trade relationships and advancing cooperation between their tourism and airline industries.

“It was noted that there is a very close cooperation among local airlines operating flights to Georgia, resulting in a significant increase in flight frequency. Four airlines are now operating from 3 airports to 3 international airports in our country.

We agreed relations between our countries should be further strengthened, and tourist flows and the frequency of direct flights be increased, which will enhance cooperation and benefit the economies of both nations.

Today, an important meeting will be held with the leadership of Abu Dhabi Ports Group to discuss deepening of our cooperation. During this meeting, a crucial memorandum will be signed, which will pave the way for the largest investment group from the Emirates to enter Georgia. This investment is expected to strengthen our country’s economy, bolster the tourism and development sectors, and create new jobs”, - said Mariam Kvrivishvili.

She went on to highlight the productive discussions held with UAE ministers concerning the strengthening of trade relations, as well as advancements in tourism and aviation between the two countries.
