A Chairman of parliament releases a special statement on the recent developments in regard to Rustavi2.

"  Political life of Georgia shouldn"t follow scenario written by Saakashvili or Khalvashi. It is unacceptable to get dangerously weakened  democratic institutions with battered reputation as a result of their activities.

It is unacceptable to continue involvement of courts in a fight without rules.

It is unacceptable to take such important decisions, which may have a decisive impact on Georgia"s future, secretly. No matter how great re the goals.

It is unacceptable to allow Mr. Saakashvili and Mr. Khalvashi to damage the country and people while solving their  inherently suspicious relations and deal.

So today the only right path for every judge or  public official is to take the independent decision based  on the law. The only right action of politicians is to  promote  an environment for such decision,"- writes Davit Usupashvili.
