Tbilisi City Court has set GEL 50,000 bail for Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of the “Unity – United National Movement, for failing to appear before a temporary parliamentary investigative commission probing alleged crimes committed under the previous UNM government.

“I will talk with my team members before deciding whether to pay the mandated amount… This body [the investigative commission] is illegitimate not just because it was established by an illegal parliament, but also because it is an unconstitutional, incomprehensible collection of people who have the compulsive belief that they are a commission and can do anything. I tell them, you have very little time left, justice will prevail, and we will undoubtedly win”, - said Giorgi Vashadze.

The pre-trial hearing is slated for May 27 at 12:00 p.m.
