The Government of Georgia has issued a decree establishing a Government Commission tasked with facilitating the hosting of the 2025 World Fencing Championships.

"The Commission will be led by Minister of Sports, Shalva Gogoladze. Its membership includes the 1st deputies of the Ministers of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Finance, IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Protection, Head of the Special State Protection Service and the Head of the National Tourism Administration.

The Vice Mayor of Tbilisi and the President of the Georgian Fencing Federation have been invited to contribute to the Commission`s efforts.

To ensure comprehensive preparation for the event, including the planning and implementation of all organizational aspects and the distribution and designation of necessary funding, Ministry of Sports is authorized to create an organizational group. The Ministry will also function as Commission`s secretariat.

The Government`s decree is signed by the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze.
