Today, the Supreme Council of Adjara will elect a new Chairman of the Government. President Mikheil Kavelashvili has nominated Zurab Pataradze for this position.
According to the regulations, a joint committee meeting will be held first, where deputies will hear the candidate’s future plans and government program. Following this, the matter will move to a plenary session for a vote.
The support of a majority of the full Supreme Council membership is required to confirm the new Chairman.
Zurab Pataradze previously served as the Chairman of the Adjara Government from 2016 to 2018. He is returning to the position of the region’s top official from the diplomatic service.
