Law enforcement officers from Georgia and Spain have arrested 13 people within the frames of the international special operation “CACHABA” in Spain

The police operation was carried out in active cooperation with the Georgian Police Attache, preceded by a year of intensive coordination between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

The investigation established that members of a criminal group were involved in 27 apartment burglaries committed in various regions of Spain. The group consisted of two different branches - members of Georgian origin, who directly carried out the apartment burglaries, and a Spanish branch, who sold the stolen items in various cities.

Law enforcement officers from the two countries conducted a special operation simultaneously in Madrid, Valencia, Guadalajara and Alicante, a total of 9 different locations.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 510, 301 and 570 of the Spanish Criminal Code. The crime envisions up to 8 years of imprisonment.
