Officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person on charges of premeditated murder and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms.

The investigation established that on May 31 of the current year, in Batumi, the accused person inflicted multiple wounds to a man he knew with a firearm and fled the scene.

The wounded man died before being taken to a medical facility.

As a result of the investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, the perpetrator of the crime was arrested as a defendant based on a judge's ruling.

The investigation is underway under Articles 108 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning the imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years.
