Employees of Anti-Fraud Division of Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person on charges of fraudulently appropriating a large amount of money.

The investigation revealed that the accused person, under the pretext of providing construction and repair work for citizens’ residential buildings, fraudulently appropriated 98,000 GEL belonging to the victims.

As a result of the operational measures taken by law enforcement officers, the detainee was arrested as a defendant based on a judge’s ruling.

The investigation is underway under Article 180, Part III, Subparagraph “b” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning up to 9 years of imprisonment.
