As a result of police measures, officers of Vake-Saburtalo Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered a makeshift drug laboratory and arrested two citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan on charges of drug-related crimes.
The investigation established that the defendants, for the purpose of further sale, were preparing narcotics in a so-called laboratory set up in a temporary residence, using various chemical agents and precursors. The evidence obtained in the criminal case also confirms that the defendants were selling drugs using various methods.
During the personal search and search activities held in temporary residence, the police seized a particularly large amount of various types of narcotics weighing up to 20 kilograms as evidence. As a result of the investigative actions, materials necessary for the homemade production and packaging of narcotics were also seized.
The investigation is underway under Articles 266 and 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
