Today, the Orthodox Church celebrates the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. The Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia is in Senaki. Shio III celebrated a solemn liturgy at the Church of St. John the Baptist.

Along with the parishioners, representatives of the local government also attended the service. This was the first liturgy that Shio III celebrated in Senaki in his capacity as Patriarch.

"I congratulate you on today’s feast. May God bless you, strengthen you, and grant you joy. May Saint John the Baptist protect you, and through his prayers, may the Lord help us in learning repentance and in our Christian life. Through the prayers of Saint John the Baptist, may God bless the Diocese of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, may God bless the whole of Georgia, each and every one of you, and may God unite, strengthen, and save our country, amen!" - the Catholicos-Patriarch noted during his sermon.
