The main Christmas Liturgy was held in Bethlehem’s Nativity Church. According to the Gospel, the church was built on the place where Jesus Christ was born.

Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III led the liturgy. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas did not break the tradition. He attends to Bethlehem’s and Jerusalem"s Christian celebrations religious services every year.
