The GEL 40,000 property tax threshold to be abolished, staying in place only for citizens earning GEL 100,000 and above - Kirtskhalia

The 40,000 GEL threshold will be completely abolished, and property tax will be maintained only for citizens with an income of GEL 100,000 and above. Such a statement made today the leader of the Parliamentary Majority.

As Irakli Kirtskhalia explained, according to a new initiative developed in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, the current GEL 40,000 threshold will be fully abolished, and property tax will only apply to citizens whose annual income equals or exceeds GEL 100,000.

“I would like to announce a new initiative that is important for our citizens. In active coordination with the Ministry of Finance, we have made a decision - which will be adopted through an accelerated procedure - that the 40,000 GEL threshold will be completely abolished, and property tax will be maintained only for citizens with an income of 100,000 GEL and above”, - said Irakli Kirtskhalia.
