Price comparison portal ekalata.gov.ge now available as a mobile application for Android and iOS

The price comparison portal www.ekalata.gov.ge, developed by the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) at the initiative of the Government of Georgia, is now also available as a mobile application for Android and iOS. The application enables consumers to compare prices and access product information directly from their mobile devices.

The portal allows consumers to compare prices across retail chains in a single place, build a personalised basket and calculate potential savings. It currently covers 13 basic food products and 10 essential non-food products.

Since its launch, additional retail chains have joined the portal, which now displays prices from 16 leading chains. A new store geolocation feature also allows users to locate the nearest branch.

The information on the portal is based on data supplied by the retail chains and is updated promptly, allowing consumers to compare current prices.

According to the September data, the cost of the cheapest basket of 13 basic food products decreased by 4.4% between the beginning and the end of the month, while the cost of the basket of 10 essential non-food products decreased by 5.3%.

The portal was launched at the end of June 2026 as a short-term measure, at the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia and following the conclusions of the Parliamentary Commission on the price formation structure of food products. Its aim is to provide consumers with information on prices and offers for basic products in one place, to facilitate price comparison across retail chains and to promote informed consumer choice. Within this framework, the GCCA monitors the portal. The Agency will continue to develop the platform and intends to introduce further features and services for consumers.
