Constitutional Court to resume consideration of the lawsuit against the recognition of 5 opposition parties as unconstitutional

The Constitutional Court will resume consideration of the lawsuit against the 5 opposition parties for declaring them unconstitutional in a few minutes. Sessions have been scheduled for next week as well. The two trials that have already been held were almost entirely devoted to the opposition`s petitions. The plenum of judges did not satisfy any of them.

The Georgian Dream party claims that the opposition is trying to delay the process and that is what various petitions serve. The ruling party is demanding the banning of the United National Movement, the Coalition for Change, Lelo, the Federalists, and Gakharia for Georgia, and is talking about their anti-constitutional actions.

"Today, the stage of submitting motions will end and we will probably start the stage of explanations. We have been asking for two days to find out what episode each party was referring to with that single artificial and absurd lawsuit, however, during two days neither the judges nor the plaintiff were able to explain this to us, and the motions that would have allowed us to do so were not satisfied", - says Giorgi Sioridze, member of the political council of the party "Lelo - Strong Georgia".

The consideration of the lawsuit on the recognition of 5 opposition parties as unconstitutional in the Constitutional Court will resume in a few minutes.
