Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia will attend events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution in Budapest at the invitation of Péter Magyar, Prime Minister of the Republic of Hungary.
The main commemorative event, at which the Hungarian Prime Minister will deliver an address to the guests, will take place in a central square of the Hungarian capital on October 23.
“The freedom that Central Europe finally regained in 1989 did not begin in 1989. Part of its history was written 33 years earlier, on the streets of Budapest.
I have the honour of inviting You to Budapest to commemorate together the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. It would be a great honour for us to welcome You to this event, where we will pay tribute to those whose courage continues to inspire us as we shape our shared European future and whose legacy remains relevant in addressing the challenges of our time”, reads the official letter of invitation from Péter Magyar received by the Prime Minister of Georgia.
