We can boldly say that the “Tbilisi Financial Summit” was highly successful; a high level of interest was recorded toward the event - Turnava

The “Tbilisi Financial Summit” was highly successful, and a high level of interest was recorded toward the event. It is important that an international meeting of this scale is being held in Georgia. We have a lot that we can share with our international partners and colleagues. First and foremost, this includes macroeconomic stability and economic growth, which strengthen Georgia's investment attractiveness. Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), said this while summarizing the Tbilisi Financial Summit.

“Georgia maintains high growth rates, and this makes our country attractive to investors”, - she noted.

According to the NBG Governor, the participation of international investors and investment funds in the summit is important not only for discussing global financial trends but also for exploring specific investment opportunities available in Georgia and expanding existing investments.

“The summit was attended by numerous international investors and representatives of investment funds, whose interest is not limited solely to discussing global challenges. They are also interested in specific investment opportunities - where they can invest and how to expand already existing investments in Georgia”, - said Natia Turnava.

She also emphasized that within the framework of the summit, special attention was paid to cooperation issues with representatives of the Bank of China and the Central Bank of China. The purpose of the meetings was to deepen international ties with Georgia's financial sector and develop new opportunities for cooperation. Natia Turnava also drew attention to the importance of cooperation with the central banks of neighboring countries, noting that the signed memoranda of understanding are practically functioning and contributing to the strengthening of regional ties.

As the NBG Governor pointed out, the summit provided international partners and representatives of the financial industry with a platform to debate current topics, share experiences, and discuss new opportunities for cooperation. Approximately 1,000 participants from up to 60 countries took part in the event, including heads and representatives of central banks, financial sector leaders, international investors from the US and Europe, and representatives of investment funds.

Within the framework of the summit, special attention was dedicated to financial technologies (fintech), digital currencies, artificial intelligence, the development of payment systems, and issues of maintaining financial stability amidst geopolitical challenges. The participants discussed how the utilization of innovative technologies can make financial services more efficient and accessible, while simultaneously managing the risks associated with them.

According to Natia Turnava, the summit will become an annual tradition and will continue to facilitate international dialogue and the deepening of cooperation in the financial sector in the future.
