The President of Georgia went to the Vake park in connection with the celebration of victory over fascism. Margvelashvili laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
"May 9 is mankind`s greatest victories over evil. We, Georgians, a small nation, can proudly say that the Georgians and Georgia have a great contribution to this victory, "- Margvelashvili said.
Georgia"s armed forces chief of staff, Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze wished the veterans good health and a long life.
"The whole of Europe, the whole world is in debt with Georgia , because we have given the best that we could for this victory," - he explained.
World War II participants have gathered in the park since the early morning. The Prime Minister also plans to visit the park.
