Nika Gvaramia, a Director General of Rustavi2 comments on judge Merab Turava"s announcement. According to him, Turava"s petition confirmed that amendments of law on constitutional court were directed against Rustavi2

"We"ve been saying from the very beginning, that this law is adopted due to Rustavi2 case. It is directly ties to the trial. Our assumptions are now confirmed. But that"s okay, Judge Turava is government"s paratrooper at the Constitutional Court, but nevertheless, there are eight other judges at the constitutional court so far and unlike other courts, this court has resist pressure from the government till now. The only institution which protects democracy is the Constitutional Court,"- Nika Gvaramia said.
