"Not equal approach to competition partcipants " - third sector criticizes Justice Council

Coalition for Independent and Transparent Judiciary assesses the competition carried out at the High Council of Justice for 65 judges as expeditiously and flawed.

The Civil sector says that the process has once again confirmed the systemic problems in the selection and appointment of judges .

"There was not equal approach to the competitors, some were asked much more difficult questions, others much easier ones ," - said the executive director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy Michael Benidze.

"At the same time, the coalition does not welcome the fact that the High Judicial Council did not wait for the two most important constitutional body - the Parliament and the Constitutional Court"s decisions," - the statement says.
