408 people died in the August War in 2008 in Georgia.170 out of them were employees of the Defense Ministry, 14 employees of the Internal Ministry and 224 civilians.

According to the Health ministry, 2 232 have been wounded in the August War. Among them are both - civilians and military officials. According to the official data 1045 were military servicemen.

As a result of the August war number of refugees in Georgia has increased of 26 000. Now the country has 263 598 refugees.
