New regulations come into force from January 15 , which means strickter sanctions. The minimum amount of fines for environmental pollution is 50 lari and a maximum- 5 thousand GEL.
According to Waste Management Code, drivers and passengers throwing waste from vehicles will be given a 120 GEL fine. This applies both to drivers (if waste was thrown from a car) and passengers (if waste was thrown from public transport) .
