According to Transparency International - Georgia, Ekaterine Meskhidze"s spouse is also dismissed from the Public Registry. Meskhidze blames former head of the National Agency of Public Registry Papuna Ugrekhelidze for sexual harassment.
The interests of Ekaterine Meskhidze"s husband are protected by the NGO.
"After the victim left the job and moved to work, Mr. Papuna Ugrekhelidze complained that her husband remained in the public registry system as an employee. Another mechanism was used to punish the accused and he was dismissed for a disciplinary mistake. This is illegal and continuation of the pressure and coercion that had pace towards the victim, "said Teona Zakarashvili, the chief lawyer of the Transparency International Georgia.
Papuna Ugrekhelidze wrote in a statement on social network that allegations of sexual harassment were revenge because Ekaterine Meskhidze"s husband - Zurab Kipiani was released from the Public Registry on the basis of disciplinary sanction.
