I think there must not be obscurity and unreplied questions regarding the death of Zviad Gamsakhurdia- President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili said in a written statement released on the Day of Referendum on March 31. 

The President says the society has unreplied questions regarding Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s death. 
"Today, we mark the Day of the Public Referendum conducted on restoration of the Georgia"s independence.
On the referendum, held on March 31, the Georgian people expressed their unwavering will to restore statehood, when unanimously, together with the Abkhazians and Ossetians, we clearly and unambiguously stated that we aim to become a worthy member of the modern democratic community, to establish the place fairly deserved by us- one of nations of the oldest and unique culture. We have never put this goal under question, and today Georgia continues to move to the fair place in the European family.
At the same time, today is the birthday of Georgia"s first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia. He would turn 79 today. Zviad Gamsakhurdia has made a significant contribution to the development of the national liberation movement of Georgia and the restoration of the statehood of Georgia.
When the main achieve, ment of our state is democratic values, ​​when we are building a legal state, we still have questions about the circumstances of Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s death. I think it is very important that the death of Zviad Gamsakhurdia does not remain unclear, "- the statement reads.
