"I have not heard Lavrov"s statement, but in general I can note that we act in accordance with our national interests," said Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia on the expulsion of Russian diplomats.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgia expresses its solidarity with strategic partners and the expulsion of diplomats is also a sign of this.

"We express solidarity with our strategic partners and we therefore make decisions about concrete issues. For us it is important to act correctly and on the basis of principles. We have established principles in foreign policy and our every decision is based on these principles, "said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has already issued an official note about the expulsion of Russian diplomat from the Russian section in the Swiss embassy.

The official note reads that the Russian diplomat should leave Georgia in 7 days.
