Russia does not hide the satisfaction with Syria"s decision. Konstantin Kosachov responded to recognition of independence of the occupied regions by the Assad regime.

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council is convinced that by the step of the official Damascus, the rest of the world will start to recognize the independence of Abkhazia and so-called South Ossetia.

In the interview given to TASS agency, the MP also touched upon the policy of non-recognition by the international community.

"This is another evidence that the actions of the West will result in the outcome contrary to their expectations," Konstantin Kosachov said.
