A well-known British lawyer"s report may become the basis for a suit in the Strasbourg Court.

Geoffrey Robertson has presented a 7-page document today in Hague that deals with a gross violation of international conventions and norms.

The lawyer believes that Petro Poroshenko"s decision to seize citizenship of Mikheil Saakashvili and his expulsion from the country was illegal. In addition, it is said that the force was used during his expulsion from the country. The report also suggests that the Poroshenko government wanted to get rid of Saakashvili from Ukrainian politics.

"Mikheil Saakashvili is a victim of violations of the rights that should be guaranteed by the international convention. So, we are dealing with the apparent gross violation of human rights law and international conventions. Ukraine has also signed these conventions. What should be done, the leading countries of Europe should take diplomatic steps, to invite Ukrainian diplomats to tell them that their president`s acts are shameful. We should also review the assistance sent to Ukraine. This should be used as a leverage to influence Ukraine and its president to allow Saakashvili to return and lead his party for the next year"s upcoming elections. We have an idea of a Magnitsky-like act. This law effectively works against Russian corrupt officials, "says British lawyer, Jeffrey Robertson.
