The decision to recognize the independence of the so-called Abkhazia and South Ossetia by Syria is assessed by Turkey as a gross violation of international legislation, UN Charter and Resolutions.

"Our country, as we have repeatedly stressed, supports Georgia"s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity," the statement posted on the official website of the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
