German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed the hope that the situation in Transnistria will not develop the Ukrainian scenario.

"We hope not," - said Merkel reporters on Thursday, responding to a question, do not you think it is that "Russia"s behavior in Transnistria may be the same as in Ukraine."

"For many years we have been trying to solve the frozen conflict in Transnistria. We should not forget that this conflict is, and all international efforts so far have not led to the result.
