Prime Minister will present government structural changes today

The Government of Georgia headed by the new Prime Minister will hold the first meeting today.

Today Mamuka Bakhtadze will officially present the structural changes of the government. After consideration and approval at the government session, draft laws will be submitted to the Parliament.

According to the procedure, MPs will discuss the issue of unification of ministries in the accelerated manner. The discussion will also start with the candidates of the ministers.

The opposition is assessing the unification of the ministries as an attempt to deceive the public.

"This is harmful to the Georgian people and the Georgian state. We have to resist it as it is a very bad decisions. I do not like the merger of culture and education, but it is also bad that the infrastructure and IDPs ministries will be uniteded, "said Nick Rurua, a UNM member.

"European Georgia" says that if the changes will not have impact on the welfare of the population.

"The main changes are not how many ministries will be appointed, the main thing is how this will affect the economic situation of our citizens. If the taxes remain the same, if their situation will not be relieved, then this change will have no sense, "said Otar Kakhidze, a member of the European Georgia.
