The term of submission of candidates for the Chief Prosecutor"s vacant position expires today at 18:00. According to the latest data, 21 applications have been submitted to the Prosecutor"s Council. Shalva Tadumadze, the head of the government"s administration is named as "Georgian Dream" favorite.

Irakli Nadareishvili is among other candidates. He has the governmental support as well.
Nana Kakabadze, chairperson of "Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights" made a statement today. She noted that if the candidate is not acceptable to the society, it will be difficult for Georgian Dream to win elections in 2020.

According to him, Tadumadze"s main drawback is that he has no experience and has not worked as a prosecutor.
