"United National Movement" responds to the NATO summit scheduled in Brussels on July 11-12.

Opposition members urge members of the North Atlantic Alliance to take steps to strengthen Georgia"s defence capabilities and take effective steps towards the country"s NATO membership.

"We believe that Georgia as a state as a country deserves NATO membership. We call on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to take into consideration the reforms carried out by Georgia during these ten years and take a concrete step in regard to Georgia"s NATO membership, " said Giorgi Baramidze, member of the political council of the United National Movement.
