"Environmental problems are much more important than economic," said Ivane Machavariani, the Finance Minister who responded to the special operation in Svaneti.

According to him, illegal logging should end in the country.

"We believe that trees need protection. This day is a proof. The Svaneti developments confirm it. 15 people were detained in last two weeks in connection to this,"- Ivane Machavariani said.
