Members of the Parliament of Georgia response on Dmitry Medvedev"s statement that Georgia"s NATO membership will have catastrophic consequences.
A Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, the member of Faction "Georgian Dream" Giorgi Volski says that Russia does not guarantee Georgia"s security.
"We have already said and we will repeat it once again that our striving to the Euro-Atlantic integration is not directed against anyone," said Gia Volsky.
Salome Samadashvili, a deputy chairperson of United National Movement faction says that the August war was due to interference with NATO membership.
"It seems that Russia has demanded from the US to refuse to support Georgia"s and Ukraine"s integration to the NATO, in exchange to cooperate with the Kremlin on Iran and Syria. It seems that the Russian side has not received such promise, "Samadashvili says.
Davit Bakradze, the Chairperson of "European Georgia - Movement for Freedom" and the presidential candidate says that the country should not slow down its NATO aspiration.
"Our path is on - We have to continue our move to the NATO very calmly and slowly. The closer we get to the NATO, more such announcements will be made,"- said Davit Bakradze.
