Foreign Ministries of different countries spread announcements supporting Georgian ten years after Russia"s aggression against the country.
The German Foreign Ministry calls on Russia to comply with the agreement reached ten years ago. The Department considers unacceptable a recognition of the unilateral recognition of the occupied regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states and reiterates its support for Georgia"s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Canadian Foreign Ministry also urges Russia to respect the obligations undertaken by the August 12 ceasefire agreement. The statement released by the agency says that after ten years of tragic war between Russia and Georgia, Moscow still violates international norms and thousands of people continue to live under Russian occupation.
The Canadian Foreign Ministry calls on Moscow to allow the European Union Monitoring Mission access to the Georgian territories ." “Canada has been unequivocal in our condemnation of Russia’s pattern of unacceptable international behaviour. We will continue to work with our international partners to hold Russia to account for its deplorable and unlawful behaviour.
Canada stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Georgia, in support of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.” - reads the statement.
The UN Secretary-General stresses the need for greater efforts to advance the peace process.
