"Promoting hatred" - NGOs condemn Salome Zurabichvili"s xenophobic statement

The NGOs call the statement made by the presidential candidate Salome Zorabichvili in Ninotsminda as "xenophobic" and explain the reasons.

Salome Zurabichvili has accuses the third president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili of granting privileges to the Turkish nationalities at the meeting with local ethnic Armenians in Ninotsminda.

Non-governmental organizations have released a joint statement, which reads that Zurabishvili"s statement contributes to "inciting hatred".

"The statement of the presidential candidate promotes hatred, contradicts the principles of liberal democracy and equality, Causes dangerous problem regarding the historical conflict in the modern Georgian political reality of," the statement reads.

The third sector calls on SalomeZurabishvili and other presidential candidates to refrain from xenophobic, racist and discriminatory statements.
