The Georgian Foreign Ministry responds to the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zaharova.

Zakharova talks about the necessity of informing citizens on the so-called border lines in order to reduce detentions on occupied territories.

The Georgian side is convinced that Russia is trying to find explanations to the illegal detentions of the population.

The Foreign Ministry says that the only precondition for the de-escalation of the situation is the immediate cessation of illegal actions by Russia on the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as the fulfillment of international obligations and the withdrawal of military units from the territory of Georgia.
