The government"s attacks on civil sector continue. Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze joined the leaders of "Georgian Dream" who have openly criticized NGOs for the last two months.

The PM accused the civil sector of plotting against the state and said that they are behind those who are pulling back the country.

In addition to the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Parliament criticized the civil sector. Irakli Kobakhidze is one of those high-profile officials who has personallybeen mentioned in the report of Transparency International.

Representatives of the civil sector think that high officials of the government are making statements against them intentionally several days before the elections.

The report on election issues also noted that the government was trying to overturn the recordings of Rustavi 2 broadcasting with the expectations of destabilization in the pre-election period.

The opposition sees a direct connection between the published surveys and the organized attack on the NGOs.
