The procedure granting autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Istanbul is completed. A few minutes ago, World Patriarch officially signed the resolution on the independence of the Ukrainian Church.
Prior to this the Patriarch Bartholomew held a meeting with the head of the Ukrainian Church, Metropolitan Epiphany and President Petro Poroshenko, at the St. George"s Cathedral.
Prior to the signing ceremony, a prayer service was held attended by Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko, Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, Speaker Andrei Parubiy, Metropolitan Epiphany.

After the service, Patriarch Bartholomew received at his residence the Ukrainian president and Metropolitan Epiphany.
