Parliament of Georgia returns from Kutaisi to Tbilisi. The MPs will gather at the spring session tomorrow and the bureau session will be held today.
The opposition is planing to change the electoral code. After the registration, the Committee on Procedural Issues will discuss the issue and the opposition will be given the necessary documents to collect signatures.
Transition to the proportional electoral system will be the reason for the meeting of the organizing board. Up to 25 opposition parties will discuss ways to force the government to accept their proposal.
"The electoral system in the country should be changed. It"s a vicious electoral system that promotes fraud, promotes unfair conduct of elections. In this regard, one of the most important demands will be the cancellation of majoritarian elections and the enforcement of the norm which is envisaged in the Constitution of our country in 2024. We"ll start collecting signatures soon, "said Roman Gotsiridze, a member of the UNM.
Opposition demands are assessed as an attempt to write political dividends in the parliamentary majority.
