In Zugdidi, civil servants and residents held a demonstration demanding Tengiz Kobalia to be released.
The organizers of the rally explained that the judge did not consider the petition, signed by eight thousand people. Tengiz Kobalia was the head of the Economic Policy and Management Service of Zugdidi City Hall. The investigation charges him in giving false testimony.
The case is about businessman Zura Kvirkvia"s business activities when Zugdidi Mayor Lasha Gogia and Vice-Mayor Gia Gulordava received black money in exchange for transfer of real estate .
